Burning Man: Learning from Heterotopia

Burning Man: Learning from Heterotopia (Routledge, February 2024), by UC Davis alumna and lecturer Linda Noveroske-Tritten (Ph.D., performance studies, ’15; M.A., art history, ’04; M.A., dramatic art, ’02), centers on a philosophical analysis of creative acts at the Burning Man Festival and their roles in wider social change. With particular focus on the Ten Principles of Burning Man, Noveroske-Tritten posits a re-interpretation of common notions of "self" and "other" as they apply to identity, difference, and the ways that these personal impulses ripple outward from changing individuals into changing societies.
