Arts and humanities students at the University of California, Davis, engage with the world in new, thoughtful and imaginative ways. In the upcoming Arts & Humanities 2025 Graduate Exhibition, students from across the College of Letters and Science are creating public spaces for connection and storytelling, questioning long-held assumptions and histories, and using artistic expression and design to suggest new pathways to a more sustainable future.
Social Network Analysis in Second Language Research by Robert Bayley and Kristen Kennedy Terry is the first holistic research overview and practical methodological guide for social network analysis in second language acquisition, examining how to study learner social networks and how to use network data to predict language learner behavior and identity.
A comprehensive interpretation of Rousseau’s theological and religious thought, both in its own right and in relation to Rousseau’s broader oeuvre. In chapters focused on different key writings, Scott reveals recurrent themes in Rousseau’s views on the subject and traces their evolution over time.
The Arts & Humanities 2024 Graduate Exhibition features an array of thought-provoking and sensory stimulating displays. Four students were awarded prizes during the exhibition's opening reception. The work is on display through June 24.
Noah Guynn, professor of French and comparative literature, accepts appointment as Associate Dean of Faculty for Humanities, Arts and Cultural Studies in the College of Letters and Science.
The Department of Asian American Studies, Department of Chicana and Chicano Studies, and Department of African and African American Studies each will receive $100,000 in funding as part of a new set of grants from the Mellon Foundation. The grants recognize the importance of studying race, ethnic, gender and sexuality.
