Overlapping the concepts of time, memory and the body, Gracianne Kirsch uses many art modalities to explore their own many-sided self.
Brooklyn based artists Marie Lorenz and Byron Kim will speak in Davis this April as part of The California Studio: Manetti Shrem Artist Residencies. The free, public events will be April 10 and April 24.
Torkwase Dyson, the winter quarter spotlight artist in The California Studio: Manetti Shrem Artist Residencies, is scheduled to speak on campus on Feb. 27. Dyson is a painter working across multiple mediums to explore the continuity between ecology, infrastructure and architecture.

The artist is speaking on Thursday, Jan. 30, for the 2025 Betty Jean and Wayne Thiebaud Endowed Lecture at UC Davis.
A new exhibition at the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art marks the first time the museum has commissioned all new work. Titled Phillip Byrne, Beatriz Cortez, Kang Seung Lee, Candice Lin: Entangled Writing, the exhibit is on view at the University of California, Davis museum through December.
A mixed media textile artist and musician, April Camlin brings her experience of grief, pleasure and pain into her work. She is a recent graduate from the M.F.A. in the Maria Manetti Shrem Art Studio Program at UC Davis and the recipient of the graduate fellowship at the Headlands Center for the Arts in Sausalito. Her work is in the university's permanent collection.
