Maceo Montoya Wins ‘American Book Award’

Maceo Montoya’s latest release, Imaginative Possibilities: Conversations with Twenty-First-Century Latinx Writers (University of Pittsburgh Press, 2024), co-authored with poet Javier O. Huerta, has won an American Book Award. Professor Montoya is a writer and visual artist teaching in the Department of Chicana/o/x Studies, the Department of English and the Creative Writing Program, all in the College of Letters and Science at UC Davis.

Associate Professor Bettina Ng’weno, Department of African American and African Studies, has been honored with this year's Distinguished Graduate and Postdoctoral Mentorship Award from UC Davis Graduate Studies and the Graduate Council. Three L&S Faculty Elected as AAAS Fellows

Three faculty from the College of Letters and Science at UC Davis are among 471 scientists, engineers and innovators newly elected as fellows of the American Association for the Advancement of Science, the society announced today, March 27. AAAS fellows are recognized for their exceptional achievements in science, including research, teaching, administration and science communication.

Meet the 2024-2025 Chancellor's Fellows

The eight faculty members who comprise the newest class of Chancellor’s Fellows are early career academics doing exemplary work in their fields. The program, created in 2000, awards $25,000 in unrestricted philanthropic funding to support recipient's research or scholarly work. C
