Students Help Show Inner Workings of Museum, Digitize Collection

An exhibition on view at the Jan Shrem and Maria Manetti Shrem Museum of Art at UC Davis shows in real time the digitization of the university’s Fine Arts Collection. Visitors not only view the art but watch as it’s unpacked, photographed and entered in a database where it will be searchable by the public soon.

UC Davis Design Museum Showcases Innovative Neighborhood on Its 50th Anniversary

"Village Homes: A Radical Plan"  celebrates the 50th anniversary of an innovative west Davis neighborhood community. Curated by Professor Timothy McNeil and guest curator Adrienne McGraw, the installation showcases the vision, concepts, and development behind the project and its goals. The exhibition runs Jan. 20 through June 19 in the UC Davis Design Museum.  

Endowed Chair Named for Sustainable Design, Fashion and Textiles

Gözde Göncü-Berk, associate professor of design, has been named the inaugural Maria Manetti Shrem Endowed Chair in Design, Fashion and Textiles and the founding director of the Maria Manetti Shrem Institute for Sustainable Design, Fashion and Textiles at the University of California, Davis. Her work focuses on development of soft wearable systems that sense, respond and adapt to the body to enhance health, well-being and performance.
